Scott Cook & Jez Hellard

Canada's award-winning Prairie Balladeer, Scott Cook has spent the last decade touring incessantly across Canada, the USA, Europe, Asia and Australia, building a reputation as one of the "most inspiring and imaginitive story-tellers" on the folk scene today. Road-worn, painfully honest, and deeply human, his songs weave threads of folk, roots, blues, soul and country over spacious fingerstyle guitar and clawhammer banjo arrangements. His deep caramel voice will have you all aquiver from the moment he intones a laconic "Howdy folks...", and his dry wit and myriad stories will have you in stitches.

"He sings his heart and soul, and in doing so lets light flood into your own... truly one of Woodie Guthrie's children." R2

“Scott Cook has distilled his travels down into songs powered by a sharp eye for imagery, a healthy dose of humanity, and that unforgettable voice, that at the same time intones the rigors of the road and the most comfortable couch you have ever slept on.” -David Francey

Jez Hellard is a singer of potent songs, fine guitarist and stunning harmonica player mostly to be found touring with his band, The Djukella Orchestra. Since 2005 he's played over 1000 gigs from Glastonbury Festival to the Kispiox Valley, New York to Taipei, Istanbul to the Lizard Peninsular, gaining fans far and wide. Jez and Scott first met at the top of a stairwell in Taiwan back in 2001 and have remained firm friends ever since, collaborating whenever geography and circumstance allow.

“Ridiculously enjoyable… an unequivocal thumbs up!” Folk Radio UK
