Dirty Bourbon River Show
The Dirty Bourbon River Show deftly melds sounds that range from hard-edged blues to Lisztian piano driven ballads to New Orleans brass into a result that is truly a blast of new energy into the musical landscape. Dirty Bourbon grabs hold of audiences, fascinated by their eccentricity and dexterity coupled with their ability to harken back to by-gone eras in music. Since forming in early 2009, the Dirty Bourbon River Show has released 9 studio albums and played over 900 live shows, fast earning them a stellar reputation for their tight, multi-faceted sound and high-energy performances. They can be found bringing their blend of “New Orleans Big Brass Circus Rock” all over the USA, performing at festivals and respected venues year-round.
The Dirty Bourbon River Show is comprised of Noah Adams (vocals, piano, guitar, accordion, trumpet, trombone), Matt Thomas (vocals, tenor and baritone saxophone, clarinet), Nick Garrison (vocals, trombone, piano), Jimmy Williams (bass, sousaphone, flute) and Scott Graves (vocals, drums, percussion).
Their albums and live shows (both heavily intertwined) pair exuberant, syncopated lyrics with complex, harmony-rich songwriting and orchestration. They switch instruments mid-show (sometimes even mid-song), they all sing (except the drummer, of course), and they all have a penchant for theatrics (?reballs, group chants and stomps, whiskey pours – whatever the imagination calls for).
The Dirty Bourbon River Show is currently preparing for the release of their 10th studio album “The Flying Musical Circus”.
The Dirty Bourbon River Show is proud to announce that Miss Sandra Love will be joining us as a guest vocalist for this tour! Sandra comes to us from Baltimore by way of Richmond, bringing a unique and soulful singing voice to the table. As a few of you may know, we’ve already done a few shows with her, and she clicked so nice we just decided to swoop her up and bring her on the road with us!
“A circus-like barrage of sound serving as entrance music for a magical mystery tour of whiskey-soaked French Quarter back alleys,” ~ Rory Callais, OffBeat
“Genetically theatrical… appetite-whetting… a snow-globe carnival segueing seamlessly from kazoo- and clarinet-blown circus shenanigans to smooth-croon lounge, jazzy sax solos and staccato piano jams” ~ Noah Bonaparte Pais, Gambit Weekly
“A rangy dreadlocked Jesus-esque cat in a black suit sported a massive Sousaphone as he laid down the bass lines… One fellow moved from arch-top guitar to accordion to trumpet as the set progressed… Brazen vocals, slippery sweet drumming and a horn attack like we’ve never seen… Please come back boys,” ~ Craig Havighurst, Nashville Music City Roots
“Jesus Christ. The best band in the world,” ~ Chris Bopst, Original Founding Bassist for GWAR
