Glowglobes are the Bristol-based acoustic duo: John & Laura Pocket... A beguiling combination of double bass, guitar, harmonica, mouth trumpet & vocal harmony. They play all original material reflecting a variety of genres, including folk, country & gypsy jazz/swing. Often presenting quirky, high energy performances yet capable of conjuring dreamlike, sumptuous landscapes of intense beauty. Their ambitions are; to have extraordinary experiences, give generously, interact with people & places from all cultures and travel the globe in a truck.

Glowglobes can be found at various festivals, circus theatre & cabaret events, bar-cafes, music venues as well as on the street busking! They have played various stages at UK festivals such as Glastonbury, Larmer Tree, Shambhala, Secret Garden Party. They are also favourites at Swindon Literary Festival & Beyond the Border Storytelling Festival (Wales). They have played with Kevin Ayers (Mr. Kyps, Poole), Nick Harper (Salisbury arts Centre) and Pete Roe (Tobacco Factory, Bristol).

Glow what?
The name ''Glowglobes'' came from reading Frank Herbert''s ''Dune'' sci-fi novels. Here''s a definition:
A Glowglobe is a suspensor-buoyed illuminating device. They are self-powered (by organic batteries) and usually emit pale yellow light, but can be tuned to a low orange colour. Glowglobes are portable and can follow a person around, or be caged or anchored in a specific location. The exact workings of glowglobes are not elaborated on, but they can be extinguished with a touch.
